The MTM Systems 2001A has been redesigned to increase productivity, eliminate downtime, and reduce long term operating costs. The unit provides up to 60" of reach from the floor to your molds with a retracted height of only 27". It can be programmed “On the Fly” via a convenient Graphical User Interface (GUI) touch screen display.
The MTM Systems 2001A Takeaway picker assembly can accommodate a single bottle, up to 2 gallons or 4 6oz. bottles without width adjustments. The picker hand assembly moves throughout its X—Y motion via a direct servo drive.
The deflashing is provided with a pneumatic trim station that will detab and deflash the dome in one quick and accurate process. The deflash station is made as a roll in/out cart and can be removed from the 2001A for “Quick Changeover.” Tooling packages are designed for quick bolt in and easy setup. With the purchase of an extra deflash cart, the tooling can be pre-installed on the extra cart for a quick 15 minute changeover. The bottles are positively positioned into the trim tooling by a servo controlled transfer mechanism. While bottles are being deflashed the servo transfer stands up previously finished bottles on your takeaway conveyor.
The programming structure uses Ladder Logic and BASIC programming languages. This platform is easy to work with and adapts easily for any changes you wish to make. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) keeps it simple and visual for the operator. Once a bottle size and mold configuration has been run and stored in the processor as a “Recipe,” it can be recalled for “Quick Changeover” and all stored parameters are reset and you’re ready to run without reprogramming.
2001A Key System Improvements
Features |
Benefits |
| Robotic positioning programming done with joystick |
Fast easy teach programming for pick and place with joystick positions eliminating calculations and adjustments to program prior to start up. |
| Deflash unit on cart | Allows for quick change of tooling reducing downtime. Multiple carts with tooling in place can also be used for fastest changeovers. |
| Deflashing station includes opposing cylinders | The 2001A will take large and different shaped containers. The wide base and large scrap throat opening for containers eliminates the need for other takeaways lowering capital equipment costs and allowing for quick changeover from product to product. |
| New carriage transfer system | Virtually eliminates down time by insuring product positioning for deflashing and placement on conveyor. Reduces scrapped parts. |
| Newly designed robotic hands | Improved high force toggle clamp with angular grippers ensures that the product is taken away every time reducing down time and scrapped parts. |
| Long horizontal and vertical reach | Will accommodate any shuttle-type blowmolding machine making it versatile and reducing capital expenditures |
